Katelynn's Trip to the ER

I finally decided last month, that I would hang up the shelf and pictures that I have had sitting in my office. I've had a little bit of the decorating bug lately, so I was excited to finally put everything where I wanted it to go. The girls were "helping" me hang pictures and organize. Anyway, Katelynn must have bumped the wall, and a picture that I had propped up on my shelf fell on the ground. Of course the glass broke, so Kate tried to "Jump" out of the way. She ended up jumping right onto a piece of glass. My kids are not super accident prone, so when something like this happens and we see blood...a lot of blood, we all kind of freak out a little. We were all crying, and then I cried more when our pediatrician told me that I'd have to take her to the ER. Of course, I hadn't showered for the day (isn't that always how it goes)(: but we headed to the hospital anyway. We waited, it seemed like forever, for the doctor, but finally he came, and we had x-rays done, just to make sure that there wasn't any glass in her foot. She was super lucky! No glass in her foot, no stitches (for bacterial reasons), just a good clean puncture wound.(: We ended up wrapping it for a few days, and then it finally healed on it's own.

Good Times!

Gettin' Ready for the Big Game!

So, Ethan and McKay are a little crazy! They change their clothes like 50 times a day (ok, that is a little bit of an exaggeration...just a little!)(: One minute they're cowboys, the next their football players, but most of the time they prefer they're underwear (it must be a boy thing). Anyway, the other day they were being football players, and Jamie and I made the mistake of leaving them alone for 1 minute (that is seriously all the time it took)! This is what we found...They couldn't understand why we were freaking out!(: They were just being Football players,
and getting ready for the big game. And what's a football player without his black eye paint???(:

The Mighty, Mighty Sweetpeas!

Another fun T-Ball season has come and gone.(: Dalaney was on the Sweetpeas for this season. I had forgotten how fun it is to watch these little girls try and play T-Ball. They have no idea what they are doing...it's hilarious! Dalaney played great! Her favorite position was catcher (of course I never had the camera with me when she was catcher). The first time she played catcher, she had all of the gear on, so my dad went to take a picture of her. She turned to my dad and said, "This is AWESOME!" Her best friend, Halle was on her team, so of course she loved every minute of it!Look at that form!(:

Kate turns the big 1-0

Katelynn turned 10 last month. I can't believe that my kids are getting SO old!(: For Kate's 10th birthday, she had some friends over for a late night party. Really, what's not to love about 7 ten year olds running around and screaming throughout your house? It was Awesome!(: Anyway, we played games, watched movies, and ate enough candy to keep them all pretty hyper for a while! (Maybe that is why they were running and screaming)(: I also took Kate to a local spa and we both got pedicures. After our pedicures, Mike and I took her out to her favorite restuarant...Good Wood. It was all super fun, but I was glad when it was all over.(: So in honor of Kate's 10th birthday, I thought I would list the top ten reasons that we all love Kate!
1. She has the most awesome fake laugh and cry!

2. She is very good with babies (especially Spencer).

3. She makes us laugh on a daily basis!

4. She loves to sing and dance, and does so frequently (the ipod in the kitchen is almost always on when Kate is around.(:

5. She is a natural gymnast.

6. She love, love, loves being with her friends

7. She is addicted to e-mail (so please send her some.)(:

8. She is very loyal.

9. She is amazing on her rip-stick

And the biggest reason we love Kate...

10. She is just an all around awesome person!
Being pampered! I love having girls!(:

Nothing beats the brownie and icecream dessert at Good Wood!

Our sugar buffet at Kate's party

Fun, crazy friends!

Playing the candy bar game...a classic!(;

and what's a party without the "ha ha" game!?!

We love you Kate!

F.H.E. with the Horses

A couple of months ago, Mike loaded all of the cows and moved them to Ephraim for the summer. Since the cows were gone, Mike decided to bring a couple of his dad's horses to put in the field. Of course, my kids were super excited! We decided for Family Night that we would let the kids go and ride them. After everyone put on their wranglers, boots, and hats (Ethan), we headed out to the horses. As you all know, I am not a huge fan of animals in general!(: But, I even took a turn on the horse (believe me, it was a short turn). My handsome boys all decked out!(:
Ethan thinks that he needs to look exactly like Mike. Hat, glasses, boots, wranglers, and oh yeah, a "cell phone." Did I marry a cowboy or what!?!
Ethan in his element
Pre-teens are fun!(: (said sarcastically)
Whitney was the most natural on the horse. And of course, she had to keep talking about how great of a rider she was the rest of the night.(:
Katelynn rode a lot like how I ride. She was nervous, and the horse didn't want to do a thing that she told it to do.
Ethan of course loved every minute of it!
Dalaney patiently waiting for her turn.
There was this huge tractor thingy (I have no idea what it is really called.), Spencer thought it was really fun to play in the bucket scooper thing. (I'm so not a cow girl)(:
Seriously, if Whitney had her choice, this would be her 1st vehicle. Picture Whitney pulling into the High school parking lot with this big beauty!(:
Dalaney finally got her turn.(:
I love this picture!
See, I told you I got on!(:
Katelynn thought it would be more fun to pose by the big honkin' tractor than to drive it.(:
Is breaking things a boy thing? Cause I swear, Ethan breaks everything! (Notice how he could care less that his glasses are broken.)(:ahhhh...so cute!(:

Welcome to Summer...Seriously!(:

I feel like Summer kind of took a long time to get here this year. It was hot, then it was cold, then it was raining, then it was windy, etc. Anyway, my kids seem to find fun things (trouble) to do and get into, no matter what the weather is like.(: One Saturday, the girls (Dalaney, Halle, Maddie, & Kate) decided to watch Jamie and her mom's cars. They used spray bottles and rags. The boys saw them, and decided that they wanted in on the action. At this point, they had already been running through the spinklers in Jamie's back yard, and I think rolling in her sandbox, because they were covered! I was happily weeding my front yard, and being grateful that they weren't "washing" my car.(:This was Kate's first trip of the summer to Seven Peaks. Me, being the "perfect" mother that I am, sunblocked her, and sent her on her way. This is what she came back with, I felt horrible! She at least survived it for now.(:

Family Pics

The last week in May, our good friends Ian and Amy came to visit from Texas. Before they moved, Ian was our family photographer. So, when Ian said that he was going to be doing some photo sessions while they were here, I jumped at the chance to get some family pictures. I love, love, love how they turned out. The only bad thing is that we didn't get a picture of Spencer alone (I don't know what I was thinking). Anyway here are some of my favorites (which is most of them).(:
