We had a great memorial weekend. We spent Sunday up with the Smiths. we had a great dinner, and then we visited 4 different cemetaries. At the Draper Cemetary there is this pulpit like thing. All the kids think that they need to have a turn either being a judge, bearing their testimony, or singing a song. I'll post Dalaney's testimony from the pulpit today too. On Monday, Mike and I took the kids out to breakfast at Maglebys (kind of a tradition), then we headed to the Spanish Fork Cemetary with the Robbins family. After that we had a yummy bar-b-que at my parent's house and then sang to my mom for her birthday. Over all, it was a great weekend.

Free Time-what???

I had a little free time this afternoon, I know that is rare, so I decided to catch up a little on the blog.

The end of another school year-aaaahhhhh!!!!!

I am excited for summer, believe it or not. But every year at the end of school, I start to get just a little anxious. I start making plans so that I can keep my kids happy and not have to hear them say that they are bored every 2 minutes. I feel like we are so busy at the end of the school year with programs and piano recitals, that when school is finally out, we all tend to get bored really easily. But for now, we are super busy so I thought I'd let you share in the joy of it all.(:

All Grown Up (or so he thinks!)

I just had to post a couple of cute pictures of Ethan. He is getting so big, he's not a baby anymore, and that makes me happy and a little sad. He has decided that he can eat by himself. I know that this is something that they have to eventually do, but I am never really excited about all the messes that are made at every meal time. I guess it makes for some really cute pictures. My parents gave Ethan this suit for Christmas. I thought that it was too big for him, but Mike decided to put him in it and we couldn't believe how much he looked like a little man. So cute!

Dalaney turns 4

I can't believe that Dalaney is already 4 years old. In some ways, I feel like she is already a teenager. Let's just say that she knows what she wants, and then she goes and gets it. She is probably my most stubborn child, but she is also very much a peacemaker. She makes us laugh every day either by some new dance move that she's created, a VERY sassy remark that she makes, or some song that she's made up all by herself. For her birthday party this year, she decided that she wanted to go to jumpin' Jacks in Springville. We let her bring a few friends with her. It was as fun as Jumpin' Jacks can be with a bunch of kids.(: That night, Mike and I took her to California Pizza Kitchen (that is where she wanted to go) for dinner. We thought that we had talked her into getting her ears pierced, but when it came down to it, she was not gonna have any of that. She opted for a cool High School Musical purse, some lipgloss, and a necklace with Troy and Gabriella on it. When we got home we gave her a Troy poster and as you can see, she loved it (a little too much). And to top it all off, Grandma Smith just took her to Build a Bear and let her choose a stuffed animal. Dalaney makes our life interesting and we love her. "Peace out American Idol!"

Happy Mom's Day

I just wanted to quickly post a blog about mother's day-since I have the greatest mom.(: We had a great day. We got to see both my mom and Mike's mom and spend a little time with them both. This picture is in front of my parents home by the walnut tree, where we take a lot of pictures, so this spot will probably start to look familiar to all of you. This is my mom and sister, Kathy ( love the model pose). My other sister Kristi is living in Scotland, but she's coming home soon-YEAH! My mom and sisters are my best friends, I know that sounds cheesy, but I really do just love being with them. My mom (and dad) did a great job raising me- because I turned out pretty much perfect--Totally kidding. I love you mom.
Later on Mother's day we headed to Alpine to have a bar-b-que at Mike's sisters house. We had fun eating, playing pool, and playing guitar hero, but with the whole band (I don't know the name, that is how behind the times we are). Mike's mom is such a good example to me. I am so grateful for her and for all that she does for us.

Anniversary in Mexico

Mike and I decided that for our 11 year anniversary, we needed to do something fun, so after I cried, whined, and begged, Mike gave in and we decided to go to Mexico. (Just kidding about the whining-the rest is accurate.) We stayed at an all inclusive resort in Puerto Vallarta for 4 days. It was the best 4 days ever. We sat on the beach, swam in the "adult only" pool, drank pina colatas, and took romantic walks on the beach. It was so relaxing, besides the great sunburns that we got (We ran out of sunblock and it was $20 in the gift shop-we're cheap) The sunsets were AMAZING! This picture doesn't even do it justice. The night of our anniversary we ate at one of the fancy restuarants. We were just sitting there, and all of the sudden all of the waiters came out banging pans, really loud. Everyone was looking around to see whos birthday it was, including us, and then they stopped at our table. They started singing "Happy anniversary to you" (in their spanish accents). It was really embarrasing but very nice of them. The whole vacation was totally amazing! I can't believe that Mike and I have been married 11 years. I love him so much and I am so grateful he found me.

Finally giving in

Well, I finally did it. My friends have been telling me forever to start a blog and so I finally gave in. I'm not promising that it will ever be anything great, because I am not the best journaler. But I will try and keep it updated so that you all can know what we're up to. Chat soon!
