Finally goin' back(:

So my girls were super excited to go back to school...and I was super excited too. There is nothing like having your house clean by 9am and having it stay clean all day long. Whitney and Katelynn were both up and dressed by 7am the first day of school. They both had picked out their outfits and even their jewelry weeks before, so they were totally prepared. I think they did a great job.(:

Annual "Back to School" Fashion Show

Every year for the last 3 years, we have had an annual back to school fashion show. The girls get really excited to show off their new clothes, and I just get excited that it's finally time for school to start (I know you're all thinking the same thing)(: My girls have developed into quite the models. They have the face down and even all of the moves. It always ends up being a lot of fun. This year it ended up being on my brother Mike's b-day too so we got to celebrate that a little bit too.
Ethan and Grandma Great decided to get in on the show this year.(:

Gone Huntin'

You are probably thinking by now that Mike is soooo spoiled, well, he is. Just kidding! Last weekend, he went on his first Bow hunt. He just bought a bow from one of his friends (spoiled), so he decided that he needed to break it in. He went with his friend Roger and some of his friends. He had a great time and ate great food("Roger is the best cook") but he didn't see any cow elk. He got to see 11 bull elk, so that made it all worth it.(:
Showing his great form.

Robbins Reunion

On Thursday of this last week, my sister and her family moved home from Scotland. We, of course, were all so excited. We decided that we would have a little family reunion. All of my brothers and sisters were there. The only two missing were Mike and my brother-in-law, Travus(they were working.) We hung out at my mom and dad's all morning. For lunch we all drove up the canyon and had a hot dog roast (a favorite family tradition). After that we hung out some more and just enjoyed being together. I am so close to my family, and I am so grateful for that. I can honestly say that they are all my best friends. I don't know what my parents did, but they did something right, because we all love just being together. Classic log picture.

This is all of my nieces and nephews (on the Robbins side). Ethan is the only one missing. He was napping and there was no way I was going to wake him up.(:

Utah County Fair

Yes, we went to ANOTHER fair. This one was way better, because I had my husband there with me. Whitney and her 4-H sewing group were involved in the opening ceremonies so we got to go and support her. After watching for a minute, we walked over and, of course looked at the animals and then we went to look at the dress that Whitney had sewn for the fair. She got a first place ribbon which is awesome! After that we left. That's my kind of fair!(:

The Salt Lake County Fair - YeeHah!

So as most of you know, I was not raised around animals. Most of you also know, that I married a man who has spent his whole life around animals. I'm not talking about cats and fish, I'm talking about the big ones, cows, pigs, dogs, and horses. I've never really been a country girl, but I don't ever look down on that because I probably will be someday - Picture me in wranglers - oh yeah!!!(: (never going to happen!) Anyway, this last week was the Salt Lake County fair. This has always been a big event for Mike's family, and now it is for our family. This is the second year that Whitney has shown a steer and a pig. Yeah, that's right I said a steer and a pig. (: Mike loves that she is old enough to be a part of the fair, and secretly, I think he lives for it each year. This year Whitney had a lot of cousins participate. Not all were 1st cousins, but they were all Smiths except for Jesse who is my sister's son who showed a pig this year. So in honor of the fair, I thought I would list my top five FAVORITE things about the fair.

1. I love, love, love, how dirty my kids get! Ethan even tried the dirt this year, he loved it.

2. I love all the wonderful smells that are present at the fair. Like grease, dirt, manure, pigs, cows, all mixed together. It's awesome.

3. I love the flies that seem to cling to Ethan as he sits in the stroller.

4. I love that I get to chase my kids around the whole time, because they don't want to sit and watch, they want to go to the petting zoo, or get a snow cone, or my favorite, climb in the saw dust pile.

5. Last but not least, I love to push my stroller around through all of the dirt and dust, then through the manure and the water (or something else) that is all around the animal cages.

As you can see, I totally look forward to the fair each year! I actually love that Mike loves it. I know that is cheesy, but I love watching him watch his daughter and knowing that he is so proud of her. It all went well. Whitney ended up getting 3rd for showmanship with her pig. That means that the judge liked the way she showed it. Anyway, she did a great job.

Summer Swimmin'

I have to admit that we have not been swimming that much this summer. The reason is that mostly my girls have been swimming at my neighbors house thanks to their huge pool purchase(Thanks Jenny!) . We went to the Spanish Fork pool once with Amberlee and her kids, and I took the girls to Seven Peaks for their peak reader day. The other day, my sister-in-law called us and invited us to go swimming at her mom's house. She has a nice pool in her back yard and the kids loved it. They swam straight for 5 hours. That would have killed me. Anyway, they had a blast, and I thought I better post some of the pictures so that we have proof that we swam this summer.
