Fall Ball

While Whitney was playing softball this summer, she was picked up onto an accelerated team. An accelerated team is just an advanced team that plays in tournaments and pretty much everything else they can play in. Pretty much they play ALL the time. We were really excited for her, but she began to feel really over whelmed. So we had a little chat about priorities, and she decided that some other things were more important to her right now. So she stopped playing with accelerated and just finished the city league. After that was over, we had one of her old coaches call and tell us that he was starting an accelerated team and would like Whitney to be on it. We decided that she could do it. Well nothing really came from that. Then one night, I had some random guy call me and ask if Whitney could play on his accelerated team. It was so crazy! He was putting together a team of girls that will hopefully all end up going to Maple Mountain High School. The assistant coach is the coach of the High School team there. It made total sense to me to have her on this team. Whitney was mostly just excited to get her own pair of sweats (I'm not kidding, she wears them everywhere!) Her coaches are GREAT! They never yell at the girls, and only build them up. Her team was brand new, so they have a lot of work to do, but they all are really bonding. They even call Whitney, Whitters (who doesn't love a great nickname?!). Her Fall season is over, but Whitney can barely wait for tournaments to start!
she played first base for most of the season, and did Great! She really improved her batting. She told me, " I really feel like I can hit off of any pitcher now." That is a big improvement for her!(:
