How we Celebrated Mike's Birthday

As we were headed out the door to go to dinner for Mike's birthday on the 22nd, Ethan decided that he needed to tackle Spencer (this is a common accurance in our home).  In the process of tackling Spencer, he broke Spencer's leg...again.  I was pretty sure that it was broken in the same spot, so I was a little suprised that it ended up being broken right above his ankle (both bones).  This poor kid has had two broken legs, in two different spots all within the first 2 and a half years of his life.  The guys in radiology were giving us a hard time, and when we left the hospital, they were like, "see you in 6 months." (funny).  Anyway, his bones were bent a little, so they just put a temperary cast on until he could see an orthopedic surgeon on Monday (this was a tuesday).  Anyway, after we got home, the Dr. called us and told us not to panic, but that the radiologist found some growths in Spencer's bone above the knee.  Of course the first thing I did was panic!  I called the Orthopedic Surgeon first thing in the morning, because I didn't want to wait all through the holiday to find out what we needed to do.  So we headed off to the orthopedic surgeon.  They casted Spencers leg and also discovered that the growths in his bone were NOT there the last broken leg that he had.  He will be getting an MRI on the 6th to decide if the growth is cancerous or not.  Needless to say, it has been a kind of stressful, anxiety filled week at our home.  Now we just have to wait and pray for the best.

Katelynn + Gymnastics = Love

Sorry for the super long post, but I decided to post all of Katelynn's gymnastic meets in one blog post instead of 5.(:  This was Katelynn's first year of competing in gymnastics and I have to say, I loved it!  It was so fun to watch her perform and love every minute of it!  She had lots of family and friends come and see her compete at different meets so it was a lot of fun.  My friend Karla's daughter, Lexi competed with Kate, so Karla and I were at every meet.  I'm glad I had someone fun to sit by at all of the meets.

Kate's team took 3rd at this meet

Kate's friend Natalie, aunt Lindsay, Kate, Grandma Robbins and London at the Springville meet.
When we arrived at the North Ogden meet, there was a sign that said "Welcome all Aliens."  We seriously thought we were in the wrong place.  Well, we weren't.(:  This lady totally decked out like an alien pulled up and told us we were in the right spot.  It was kind of a crazy day, but fun too.

All I'm going to say, is that at one point, this frisby hit me in my face...hard.(:

Kate and Lexi

Just had to add the picture of the alien woman!  Good Times!

This was the North Ogden Meet, and their team took first.

Grandma Smith came to the Midvale and the S.L.C. Competition

One proud mama

The final State competition was held in Park City.  Karla and I took the girls out of school early and headed up to do some shopping...have I told you how much I LOVE the Park City Outlets!?!

After getting lost...we finally found our room.

We headed down to the indoor/outdoor pool.  Thank goodness it was also indoors because it was like a blizzard outside.  But did you think a blizzard was going to stop us from swimming and sitting in the jacuzzi outside, because it didn't.(:  The kids thought it would be SOOO fun to sit in the snow and then jump in the pool.  It made me cold just watching them.(:

All snuggled in the hotel...NO, we did not all sleep that way!(:

The next morning was the meet.  Kate was in the first session, and Lexi was in the second session.  Kate did really well, but I didn't know how she would place.  She ended up taking 1st in Floor routine and the vault, and 2nd on bars and beam.  She took 2nd overall, and I'm not going to lie, I got a little emotional.

Born to be Wild...that's the truth.(:

Kinley, Lexi and Kate with their coach, Julie

I kept all of Katelynn's scores throughout the season.  If you look closely, you might see a 5.75 on bars...funny story....Kate was doing her bar routine, and she fell out of her front hip circle.  Rich told her to finish up and she took it literally.  She got back up on the bar and ended her routine.  She left out a huge chunk of it.  The funny part is, is that she didn't even realize she had done that.  The judges told her that if she would have finished, she would have gotten 3 points higher.  I am so proud of Katelynn for all the hard work she put into this season.  She seriously did great.  She just joined the gyms Exel team, so we have lots more competitions to come.(:

The Madness Continues...Breaking Dawn part 1

I often wonder, if my kids will someday look at these pictures and wonder what the crap we were thinking.  Women going crazy over vampires and werewolves...Seriously!?!  Well, I loved the books, the movies are fun, but definately NOT oscar worthy...I think I mostly just love hanging out with all of my friends and just being a little silly for a night.(:  We had a group of 50-55 girls from my ward go to dinner and the movie.  It seriously was so, so fun!

Jamie's "Feast for One"

Have you ever tried to smile with vampire fangs in your mouth...it's really hard....that is why I look like a dork!(:

Of course we had to pose with Edward....(:

Just to Remember

The other night while we were reading our scriptures together as a family, I was tickling Dalaney's back (which is a constant want from her).  Spencer was on my lap and he reached out and held my hand.  I was looking at his cute little chubby fingers and I decided that I never wanted to forget how sweet they look.  My sweet family is growing up, and as happy as I am about that, there are definately things I will miss about having a little baby in our home.  So I just wanted to capture this sweet little moment, so I could always remember.

Farewell to the Lil' Chicks...aka Lil' Gangsta Chicks

Whitney just played in her last tournament with her Lil' Chick softball team.  We drove down to St. George with our friends Malissa and Peyton and had a fun little weekend.  Let's just say that two 13 year old girls high on "Tum-E Yummies" can be TONS of fun.(:  We got there on Friday around 2pm, because we wanted to be able to shop a little before their first game.  They played at 6:30pm which was a little cold, but then they played at 9:30pm and that was A LOT cold!  Between games we went to Walgreens to find some hand warmers, and we had way to much fun there.(:    Grandma and Grandpa Boynton were able to come and cheer Whit on, and that was a lot of fun.  They finished around 11pm, and we made sure to get a picture at 11:11 since it was 11/11/11.  The people taking our picture thought we were crazy.(:  The next morning they started at 9am, so Malissa and I dropped them off and we drove up to Tuacan.  I have never been there, so that was neat to see.  After their first game we had a little time, so we drove to the St. George Temple to get some pics.  They were getting it all ready for Christmas, and of course it was as beautiful as always.  They finished the tournament around 4pm and then there coach took them all to Fiesta Fun to play and have pizza.  It was kind of a little going away party for Peyton and Whitney since they are now to old to play on that team.  The girls only had one win out of the five games that they played, but seriously we all had so much fun we didn't care.
By the way, grandma Boynton was pretty much forced to wear Whit's Mickey hat in this picture.(:

Peyton refused to be in the car while we rocked out to Justin Beiber (did I spell that right??)

Our 11:11 picture in the elevator...yes, we're cool like that!(:

Me and Malissa all bundled up (there are hand warmers in my gloves, I don't really have bulging palms.)

These two could live on Tum-E Yummies!

Displaying how the Tum-E Yummies affect them...(:

Whitney in action!

My beautiful Whit

I seriously did not complain at the backdrop we got to look at while they played.  Isn't it gorgeous!

The Lil' Chicks at Fiesta Fun

Yup, she's barely tall enough to ride!(:

Whit and Peyton on the go carts

These will mean nothing to you guys, but I wanted to remember all of our inside jokes that we had throughout the trip.  So here goes...Utard, Whitney could make that look good, back scratch anyone??, to know us is to love us, No cell phones while driving...Malissa!, Can we add sugar to our Tum-E Yummies??, Are we still going to TJMAXX?, Face Masks prevent Dain Bramage, Write that down Karin! and of course, who could forget our lil' hippy gangsta chicks!
